I'm using HVM, but I'm developing HVM-code (specifically the AMD/SVM
part of that). So whilst it may be a little bit slow to transfer data, I
usually don't do it much and often enough to really worry about transfer
speeds.

Not enough to worry about it. But that obviously depends on what you're
doing within the guest...
