I have also tried installing the newer version of the bnx2 driver, but
unfortunately the machine still crashes. I was not able to capture an oops this
time, I think the driver can't even send the netconsole messages out.
I have now inserted an intel e1000 board into the machine and the crashes seem
to be over. So the problem is definately still in the bnx2 driver in
combination with xen.
