Same problem here.  Using xen 3.2 on ubuntu 8.04.  When using more than 1 vcpu,
I experience guest lockup with kernel error message:
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 11s!

Sometimes it is preceded with another error message:
BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c1a33be0

It's not hardware -- I tested on 2 different Dell 1950 servers.

To reproduce the problem I have to run a large compile job on guest. It usually
crashes within 10 minutes.
