           Summary: Dom0 freezes periodically (3.1.0)
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Unspecified
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: berni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've installed Xen 3.1.0 on a new colocation server and am experiencing regular
freezes of the entire machine. The full story has been posted on the xen-users
mailinglist (starting
http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.xen.user/cutoff=25502). Short
abstract:

* x86_64 platform, single-core single-socket Athlon64
* no domU running, no load on the box, only basic services like sshd running
* unreproducible freezes of the whole box after several minutes to several
hours
* no console message whatsoever when happening
* no network connectivity, no response to keyboard, no Ctrl-Alt-Del, cannot
send Ctrl-A or Magic SysRq through the KVM IP extender unfortunately
* happens with Xen 3.1.0 and xen-unstable.hg repository from June 25th, Xen
3.0.4 does not boot (does not find the VIA SATA host adapter)
* non-Xen distribution kernel from Debian etch is perfectly stable, stresstest
with bzip2/bunzip2/diff in a loop has shown no issues, no problems with
memtest86+

Informations with xen 3.1.0:
xm dmesg: http://users.birkenwald.de/~berni/volatile/xm_dmesg.txt
xm info: http://users.birkenwald.de/~berni/volatile/xm_info.txt
dmesg: http://users.birkenwald.de/~berni/volatile/dmesg.txt
dom0 conf: http://users.birkenwald.de/~berni/volatile/xen.config
